Yemen – Strong and Steady

Yemen, with a demographic composition of Zaidi, Suni, Twelver shia and Ismaili, has gone through drastic ups and downs throughout its political history. Although Yemen has the Bab al-Mandab Strait -which is one of the most active and strategic routes for oil and gas shipments- it is ranked as one of the most underprivileged countries of the world. Now, the famine, poverty and lack of hygienic infrastructures in this country (especially during the spread of covid-19 virus) have reached their highest points.
The internal challenges, political movements' struggles and Saudi Arabia's military invasion are all considered as the roots of the social crisis and current disorders in this country.
Hidden behind a made-up coalition, the government of Saudi Arabia started a vast military invasion against Yemen on 26 March 2015. From the beginning of this military mission, announced as the Decisive Storm, the air raids and missile invasions against the non-military centers and residential centers in Yemen have been continued. The prolongation of this policy has brought about severe financial and emotional losses for the Yemenis. The outburst of the newly assigned rulers of Saudi Arabia, US support of the invading militants and the silence of other western countries have all exacerbated the already complicated political situation in Yemen. However, these dire squalid conditions have failed to make resistant public forces of this country surrender before the foreign powers. The Yemenis have also been able to take some steps in direction of restoring balance by resistance against the enemy's ever-increasing threats, launching missile attacks and targeting important spots such as Saudi Aramco in the heart of Saudi Arabia.
Today, five years after the Saudi invasion of Yemen, imposition of air, land and sea sanctions, creating famine and using various kinds of suppression means against the Yemenis, the sensitive conscience of the people and political elites in the world are evaluating the current realities of this part of the world and are clearly observing that

1-The Saudi Arabia failed to return its puppet, Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, to the power or even put an end to Iran's influence in this country by eliminating Ansar Allah Movement from the political equations of Yemen.

2-The US and its allies' approach (which was to turn the desert lands of Yemen and the spots far from the government control into another Afghanistan to nurture terrorist-Takfiri movements for the advancement of their own regional goals and fighting the growth of original Islamist tendencies) has completely failed. Countries such as Turkey, Qatar and United Arab Emirates, that were trying to gain something on the side, are also trying to change and replace some of their policies to compensate for their losses.

3-The countries that had put their names in the list of Saudi Arabia's coalition either as a result of the powerful regimes' threats or their own greed to gain from what Saudi Arabia had promised to be a less-than-a-month victory, are now decreasing their role or completely withdrawing from the coalition. The most loyal member of this coalition to Saudi Arabia was the United Arab Emirates that summoned its forces back in the beginning of the current year. Major general, Isa al-Mazrouei, the commander of the cooperative missions of the United Arab Emirates in Yemen announced the news and said, "During the past five years more than 15 thousand Emirati soldiers served their military service in different parts of Yemen and 108 of them were killed.

4-Yemeni civil war has been most lucrative for the American government through selling weapons to Saudi Arabia and other regional countries. The protraction of war in Yemen has kept arms-selling business to Saudi Arabia active and that's the reason there has not yet been any serious initiative to control the war.

5-Ansar Allah movement is still emphasizing the importance of unity, national glory and integrity of Yemen as strongly as it did in the first days. This movement considers itself a part of the Islamic resistance of the region and is strongly against the Zionist regime alongside other resistance groups of the region; in addition to welcoming negotiations with all the political movements, Ansar Allah give special importance and value to the necessity of government-formation based on people's votes.

6-The high level of tolerance and resistance in nations, especially in Yemen, the common security patterns and power balance models have changed in the world. It is based on this change that now the weakest and least privileged Arab country could continue to resist against the military invasion of the most powerful Arab country supported by both the US and other western countries, and also dictate its demands to these hostile forces.
The predicaments in Yemen go to show that the right path Saudi Arabia is taking is only a deviated way with no prospects ahead. The current balance of the field, political conditions and public opinion are not in favor of Saudi Arabia which will force this country to eventually surrender before the people's will. If the rulers don't let the people to paint their own fate, they will face a disastrous fate of their own.
